Name: Tom Robertson on Mar 2, 2010Comments: These animals were there long before Diageo came, now they want to cull so that they can expand there business this is not on typical humans killing off defenceless animals for the sake of profits and alcohol the issue that the Scottish goverment is bringing up every week. No CULL LET THE DEER STAY OR FIND THEM ALTERNATIVE SITES.Flag

Name: Andrew Cairns on Mar 2, 2010Comments: I don't believe for a minute that these animals are in bad health. It's just a cheap way to get rid of them ( say they're ill and kill them) instead of relocating them. Bad show Diageo.Flag

Name: Debbie Fairgrieve on Mar 3, 2010Comments: The deer can be relocated...how about opening up silverburn or the Glen and putting them in their own herd in one of these places? I used to love going through Silverburn or The Glen when I was younger...why not let the younger generation experience this aswell????Flag

Name: Duncan Hope on Mar 3, 2010Comments: I read the article in to-days Courier and the supposed reasons given by Diageo and others that killing these animals was the only humane option. I must say I have never read or heard of such a load of rubbish in all my life. The Deer Commission for Scotland and the British Deer Society should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for the comments they have made regarding this herd. These animals have as much right to live as the fatcats of Diageo or the nonentities in those two organisations and should be relocated elsewhere.Flag

I would support a limited cull with the remaining deer staying on site with improved grazing and regular care and attention provided, or the relocation of the entire herd, both options being possible in spite of reports to the contrary.Flag

Name: Jennifer J Anderson on Mar 4, 2010Comments: I am appalled at the mere thought of Diageo culling their herd of deer just because it is no longer convenient for them to keep them. While most people would do anything possible to save an animal some idiot from this company has just said kill them we no longer need them. Surely some nature reserve or deer centre would be delighted to have them even though it would take a bt of care to capture them.Flag

(I mean the big capitalists and not the genuine business people who are just trying to get by like the rest of us). Most of us manage to survive without needing to have a head that's too big to get through the door. Leave the innocent animals alone, you thoughtless, greedy B______S.Flag

Name: Carole Pullar on Mar 4, 2010Comments: I have watched this herd of deer grow over the years and even when no-one else saw the deer at the beginning I told friends to watch out for them. I have followed the growth in numbers over the years with interest and thought it was wonderful to see the deer. It would be mindless to cull the deer and would be on a par with the situation of shrinking rainforests and the effect on wildlife throughout the world that everyone who cares about wildlife worry about.Flag
