When you start Diablo III, a region is automaticaly selected by the game. You are never asked on witch region you want to play. Even if you select another region, it will only become effective when you restart the game, but there is no mention about that anywhere. If like you cannot enjoy the game with your friends (because they are in another server) sign this petition, because Blizzard doesn't support us.... Thanks
