This petition calls on Chief Constable Brian Moore of the Wiltshire Constabulary to re-open the Devizes Police Enquiry Office. There is clearly a public need for an enquiry office in Devizes. The enquiry office offers the public not only reassurance, but serves as a focal point of community policing in the town. Without it, the only policing experienced by most citizens is the income-generating mobile speed camera van. Is this what community policing really means in the 21st century

As such it is an extremely important focal point for the community and certainly excellent PR for the Police.
