The petition

We are a group of independent game developers who have so far been unable to get our games released via Valve's Steam service.

The petition was started by Mode 7 Games with respect to their crazy sword-fighting title Determinance, which was twice refused distribution on Steam. Others were then recruited to the cause!

The group is currently comprised of:

Mode 7 Games (http://www.mode7games.com)
Positech Games (http://www.positech.co.uk)
Winter Wolves (http://www.winterwolves.com/)
Puppy Games (http://www.puppygames.net)
RPG Creations (http://studioeres.com/games/)
Catnap Games (http://www.catnapgames.com)

We are writing this petition in order to encourage Valve to open up their service to indie developers, and allow people to buy games of all shapes, sizes and levels of quality without imposing arbitrary selection criteria. We ask, at the very least, that they have a defined set of selection criteria, and that they make these known.

For further information on all the companies and their games, please see http://www.mode7games.com/blog...

If we get 5000 signatures on the petition in the next 6 months (that’s a lot) - I (Paul Taylor of Mode 7 Games) will personally fly out to Valve’s offices and give it to them.

If we get 10,000 signatures, I will personally fly out to Valve’s offices and give it to them, while dressed up as a tomato.

I will do absolutely everything in my power to get a meeting where I present the petition to one of the big honchos in the company.

Note: PLEASE don't sign the petition multiple times yourself!
