I am writing three letters; one to congress, one to the government of VA (Because this is where I live) and one to the President of the United States to raise awarenss and bring about a change. Servers today make far less then minimum wage and the argument for the hourly rate is that we recieve tips... Speaking as a server that has been stiffed on more then one occassion and can barely pay her bills because of the "tips" I make nightly, I propose that we raise the hourly rate to at the very minimum of five dollars per hour however I would like to strive for minimum wage. Please sign and help me and thousands of other servers like me acheive this goal. Thank you.
