The Petition

THIS PETITION CLOSED AT MIDNIGHT ON THE 3RD JANUARY 2013

Derby City Council are proposing to stop funding Derbyshire Voice from the end of March next year. Our funding is £16,500 – a very small amount in comparison to the £30 million the council are spending on the renovation of the Council House building.
As the recession hits demand for mental health services is increasing. Now is not the time to take away this service and it is not the time for the Council to stop listening to true representatives that work to improve services.
This cut will have a detrimental affect on mental health patients’ ability to be trained and supported to influence their services. A once quiet “hard to reach” group will be silenced once again.

Funding for Derbyshire Voice should not be cut and potentially vulnerable people should not be denied support to have a voice concerning services.

This petition will close on the 3rd January 2013

THIS PETITION CLOSED AT MIDNIGHT ON THE 3RD JANUARY 2013

“We the undersigned want Derby City Council to reconsider their proposal to withdraw 100% of the funding for Derbyshire Voice and to recognise it is imperative mental health service receivers are supported to have involvement in the provision of the council’s services to this group of potentially vulnerable people.”
