    Comments: I was in BLET when Deputy West and Lt. Medlin were shot, and I vividly remember several instructors and a few students rushing from the class to go assist. I saw the concern and shock on their faces then, and the profound sadness they felt over the next few days and weeks. I didn't know either Paul or Lt. Medlin personally, but I witnessed how much they both meant to their friends and fellow employees, and I can think of no better way to honor that bond than by naming the bridge after Deputy Clendon Paul West.
