Name: Jill Mahler on Jul 29, 2004State: FLCountry: USComments: I am a 24 year old woman who was diagnosed with endometriosis 3 years ago. After surgery, my doctor wanted me to use Lupron, but after hearing some of the potential side effects, I decided to go on the birth control pill instead. BC has worked for me so far, and reading stories like the one of the creator of this petition makes me feel incredibly fortunate that I did not risk taking such a potentially harmful drug. I am also lucky that I had doctors who were forthcoming with me about the side effects. Please provide full information to young women such as myself about this drug and how it can affect you.Flag

Name: Jodi Bryan on Jul 29, 2004State: MACountry: USComments: While I have already been through treatment a few years ago, I wish that I hadn't. I had a lot of side effects and I'm not even sure if it worked in helping my Endo. I strongly support an investigation into this toxic drug. It changed me. I was not the same person. I am finally able to lay on my side after years of hip pain from the injections. I don't know if there is any permanent damage to my body. I guess time will only tell. Please research this drug to make sure that it is safe for women already suffering. Thank youFlag

Name: Susan Walsh on Aug 11, 2004State: NYCountry: USComments: I also believe that the marketing of this drug is deceptive. The manufacturer has "informational" web sites set up to try to sell the drug to unsuspecting women and they overstate how well it works. Several times a week I hear women cry that their endometriosis "came back" after a course of treatment with this drug. They were led to believe that somehow they would be cured. Where are the doctors getting this misinformation from, if not the manufacturer It must be stopped.Flag

After the pediatric dose, I noticed a change in my health. After the one shot of the adult dose, I becamse very ill and have never fully recovered. That was 3 years ago. I believe the side effects are much more drastic than we are lead to believe. I know in my case, I was a healthy women and within four days of my shot, I was very sick. It took me 15 1/2 weeks to semi recover from that one shot and I have not enjoyed one healthy day since that shot.Flag
