The Petition

In 2001, I was attacked in downtown Memphis while unloading groceries from my car. My attacker, Steve Bland, stabbed me 3 times and tried to force me into the car. Thankfully, I was able to get away. Within weeks of my attack, the Memphis Police Department apprehended my attacker and he was convicted for his violent attack against me. He received a 17.5 year sentence for his crimes.

Mr. Bland has become eligible for parole again. On May 31, 2011, the Parole Board will hold his forth parole hearing to discuss if he is deserving of parole.

One of the many options available to me as the victim is to send a petition with the signature of others who are in agreement with me that Mr. Bland should not be granted parole. Steve Bland is a career criminal and deserves to serve all of his 17.5 years sentence.

You will notice that he was convicted of another crime after he was convicted of attacking me.  Before the police caught him, he robbed another woman.

Please help keep Steve Bland, #0013181, in jail! Take a moment to sign this petition to deny the granting of parole to the man who so violently attacked me - Steve Bland.
