On November 1st, over 37,000 Denver voters told the City of Denver that they believe all workers deserve paid sick days. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to overcome the big business lobbyists and the National Restaurant Association pouring money into Denver to defeat the initiative.

Even though we lost the 1st round, because of supporters like you, we will not go away until we win. No one should ever have to choose between going to work sick or sending their child to school sick and losing pay or possibly losing their job.

Sign the petition below to the Denver Mayor and Denver City Council, reminding them of your support for paid sick days and calling on them as our city leaders to continue the conversation on this essential issue!

Dear Mayor Hancock and Denver City Council,

I believe that all workers deserve the basic workplace protection of paid sick days, and I supported Initiative 300. No one should ever have to choose between going to work sick or sending their child to school sick and losing pay or possibly losing their job. Yet still, over 107,000 workers in Denver are forced to make that choice because they lack even one paid sick day.

Although Initiative 300 did not pass, most of us in Denver (including many who opposed the initiative) agree that 41% of Denver workers lacking paid sick days is a serious issue that needs to be addressed.

I look to you, as the leaders of our city, to ensure that we continue the conversation about paid sick days and that we all work together to find a solution to this serious problem.
