We are asking everyone to please read and sign this petition.

We have been following and observing with great alarms the actions of Southalavong Boutah while he is serving as a Board Director and Secretary of Wat Lao Buddhavong (WLB) in the past seven years. We are calling for Mr. Southalavong Boutah to resign his position as a Board of Director and Secretary of Wat Lao Buddhavong, and for Wat Lao to elect a replacement. 

There are three primary roles of the Boards that are well understood to everyone: (1) to establish policies, (2) to make significant and strategic decisions, and (3) to oversee the organization’s activity.

Mr. Southalavong Boutah has these roles and responsibilities. Mr. Boutah simply has NOT fulfilled and met his obligation and responsibilities in the acceptable term. He failed to fullfill his roles and responsibilities. Calling for Mr. Boutah’s resignation may seem like a strong response, but we did not come to this lightly. Longtime WLB supporters will know that we are not planning nor have any intention of demanding resignations. In fact, it’s not something we’ve ever done before. But watching the WLB moving the wrong direction, and in consideration for the compliancy and transparency of WLB, and ensuring the future of WLB — there must be strict and swift accountability for what happened. Otherwise the very name and existence of Wat Lao Buddhavong will have taken on a whole new meaning.

That said, we signed this letter in our roles and responsibilities as members, volunteers, long time supporters of Wat Lao Buddhavong, demanding Mr. Southalavong Boutah to resign his position as a Board Director and Secretary of Wat Lao Buddhavong, Inc.

We signed this letter for an election for new Board of Director and Secretary who can and will provide policies, make significant and strategic decisions, and to oversee many of WLB's activities.

Please help make Wat Lao Buddhavong prosper by signing this petition to demand the resignation and removing Mr. Southalavong Boutah from Wat Lao Buddhavong Board of Director and Secretary.
