It has become apparent the laws in place to punish crimes against children in this country are not enough to stop the criminal acts of violence. Please join me in demanding harsher laws and enforcement of those penalties against convicted abusers. The harsher laws should encompass crimes of physical abuse in which bones are broken, sexual abuse of any nature, and absolute capitol punishment for the murder of a child. Degrees of murder should no longer apply: either the party responsible is guilty or not and should face the death penalty. As the public, we must protect the most innocent and helpless of our society and currently, we are failing.
