WE THE PEOPLE of the 24th Congressional District (CA), and the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, hereby demand that Congressman ELTON GALLEGLY (R-Simi Valley) participate in an open, televised and recorded debate, or series of debates, with other candidates for the House of Representatives. 

        THE UNDERSIGNED, and others have repeatedly requested that Congressman Gallegly debate, have open forums, town halls, make public speeches, appear in public, hold a press conference, or otherwise personally appear and communicate with his constituents, residents, and the People of the United States of America. 

        THE UNDERSIGNED, and others, have noted that, although Congressman Gallegly has served 12 consecutive terms in office, since 1987, for a period of over 23 years, he has never, to the best of our knowledge and belief, appeared on television or radio, held a press conference, conducted a town hall or other forum, or personally appeared in a forum or venue open to the public.

         THE UNDERSIGNED are not only frustrated by Congressman Gallegly's lack of respect and consideration for the reasonable expectations and requests of his constitutuents, but are concerned that Congressman Gallegly's continued refusal to debate is not only dishonorable and disrespectable to the People of his District, but to the United States Congress, and the United States as a whole, and is a deliberate and conscious violation of his Oath of Office and the duties and obligations of imposed upon him by the Constitution of the United States.
