By signing this petition, we the signers demand that the election commitees of federal and all states and U.S. Possessions add a national referendum question onto the November 2010 ballot. This question should be a yea or nea vote concerninng the enactment of a U.S. Constitutional Amendement within 2 years of this election limiting the terms that U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senators are allowed to serve. The terms would be limited to Three (3) two terms for U.S. Representaives and Two (2) six year terms for U.S. Senators. A clause can be added for a type of lottery among elected officials, to allow up to 10% of elected officials, to run for one extra term would be allowed during a given election to cover for experience level concerns within both institutions. The ammendemnt should also prohibit family members from running for the same office within two subsequent generations of an official leaving office and prevent any elected official from becomming a lobbyist to any branch of U.S. government offices. The ammendemnt should encourage a non-career enviroment to elected officials and encourage them to leave Washington and to go back to home states from which they came and undertake their previous to elected office professions. Senators should not become Representaives and vice-a-versa. If this referendum is passed by a simple majority vote it should be treated as a lawful decree from the citizens of the United States and enacted immediately with full and earnest intent by all branches of federal and state and U.S. Possession governments necessary to see it through.
