Flight data is a crucial source of information to recover the wreckage of an aviation accident and understand what happened. This data is currently recorded on board the airplane in the Flight Data Recorder (the so-called black box).

When an airplane crashes in the ocean, as was the case with Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 or Air France flight 447, recovering the black box is very costly and the wait for answers is very difficult for the family of the victims.

We therefore demand that flight data be live-streamed from all commercial airplanes carrying civilians so that this information is instantly available to authorities. We believe that, in some cases, the correct identification of the problem while the plane is still in flight might save lives.

The technology required for this task already exists but airlines refuse to pay for the extra cost. We recognize that the costs of an airplane accident is paid by the population at large, either through the cost of the search & rescue operation or through our lives or the lives of those we love. We therefore ask that citizens, via our governments, subsidize the implementation and operation of this data transmission network.

We believe that the cost of this technology will be more than balanced by the great reduction in the cost of large and complex recovery operations.
