We, the undersigned, request an emergency town hall meeting with Congressman Ed Perlmutter (CD7) and Senator Cory Gardner.

We understand 75% of those being brought to Lakewood, CO are young men between the ages of 14 - 17. 25% ages 7-12. We've been told that HHS has told our City Council that Homeland Security has a process for vetting these people who've crossed our borders illegally. How do you determine someones age, country of origin, and intent when they have no passport or background to consider? We're told that our public input is not a consideration although it will affect our community.

1. There are elementary schools and day cares in the area of the Fed Center beginning with Creighton Middle School literally across Kipling. Our Jefferson County Stadium is just down the street.

2. Traffic congestion is already a problem on Kipling. This will only get worse if facility tours for the public are allowed as we're told will happen if this facility is opened.

3. Taxpayer dollars, whether federal, state or local will be used for housing, medical, education and other needs these immigrants will require.

4. If medical care is needed will our local law enforcement be required to stand guard at another cost to tax payers.

5. Our veterans hospital has yet to be completed which is a priority to the people of Colorado. Their healthcare should be paramount.

6. We have homeless families with small children living in Lakewood and other areas of Colorado who are not being attended to.

In the interest of the safety, concerns and welfare of the people of Lakewood and the rest of Colorado we ask that a town hall be convened within the next 30 days to openly discuss this proposal.
