AnonymousHey to much goverment. let her sail. Tell Oberstar enough, looks like the union gus have a lot of pull. as the are the same as the Indian casino's that pay off the big guys in our state. so the don't have competion. why don't we do like Iowa. let the Queen do what she has done for years. We enjoy boating on the river having a chance to see. her. really sad.

Jo Ann SchoenTHANKS for your work on the campaign. I have been working hard in the Ohio River Valley but had no idea we had a sister chapter in Minnesota. Lets join forces. SAVE THE DELTA QUEEN!!!!!!!!

Vern DrakeIt's my understanding that pure politics have come into play regarding the DQ and Jim Oberstar should be ashamed of himself. The idea of depriving millions of people of seeing and experiencing this important piece of history, so that he can placate a few union hacks is despicable.

Forrest WilkinsonHello to everyone wishing to Save The Delta Queen. Forrest Wilkinson here. I hope to keep this a list of Minnesota Citizens who wish to sign their name (and ideally town) to the above petition. The Delta Queen Deserves a presidential pardon. That is what this is about, no more and no less. I appreciate all who visit, but this is not meant to be a vehicle for any discussion beyond that. If you wish to help, please make use of the DONATE button on the mn4dq.org website. Thank you very much. Forrest Forest Lake Minnesota

MatthewI find it funny that Congressmen Oberstar has taken upon himself to solve this (non)"problem" when there are clearly MUCH MORE IMPORTANT matters in need of address (*cough cough* government corruption). It is not the Delta Queen that should need defend its right to exist, but Mr. Oberstar's use and value to the American populace that should come into question. This whole matter stinks to high heaven.

Fred C. DobbsMr. Oberstar is way off base in his attempt to kill the Delta Queen, a move that clearly show this pawn of the union to be the puppet he really is. Come on Jim, show some guts and remove your opposition! The Delta Queen is far safer than Jimmy Oberstar's own home. Does he have a sprinkler system, fire retardent paint and a watchman walking around his souse to report any fires that start? Looks to me like Minnesotans should refuse to send Jimmy Oberstar back to DC next election! What a jerk! SAVE THE DQ!

sally museMy Father, Fred Barrows, was her Chief Engineer on her in the '60's She is a very very big part of my life, and I am doing everything I can to help save her. This really breaks my heart, and to think that he has to do with politics!!
Robert G. ReynoldsThe DELTA QUEEN is safe. I have travelled thousands of miles on this boat and lived on her for five years and would not hesitate to take a cruise. Please grant a permanent exemtion from SOLAS.
Erica Schuenemann

steve wagnerThis boat poses no danger to passengers and represents a historical icon in MN. Keep it!
Mr. Gale HolmstadtDon't let my childrens' heritage become a victim of Big Union politics.
Aaron Johnson
Chris GreenThe fact that this even has to be done to keep this vessel in business is a sad comentary on what our great country is becoming. They have done everything possible to make this vessel as safe as possible and I would not hesitate to travel aboard it any time. This needs to be solved once and for all, so as long as this vessel is properly maintained it will be available to provide passage on the river.

kevin mastermantell Oberstar and the other politicains to think of our history and heritage and not his pocket book.

Greg PageThe Delta Queen is a historical treasure that needs to be saved. We can not afford to deprive anyone of seeing her or riding her on the mighty Mississippi - especially our younger generations. Too much of American history is being lost these days!

Carol PriceI have seen the Delta Queen as I was traveling into St. Paul - a breath-taking sight. That other Minnesotans and/or union members and government supporters would viciously attempt to take the DQ from the Mississippi is shameful - greed and vengence is their ownly justification - not safety - and they know it. They would deprive the public of the thrill of a trip on the DQ is shameful. Sign that 10th exemption!!!!
