Congress to shutdown the H1-B Visa program. The very economic reason is that there is oversupply of technology workers here in America and there is no method of controlling the flow. Since there is no equivalent of the AMA in the medical industry maintaining the supply and demand of Doctors (and keeping Doctor salaries and fees high), the American government needs to handle the repsonsibility. Also notable is that Technology Managers tend to be more management than technically capable. Even though they may have come from a technical background, the rapid evolution of the industry puts them out of date in a matter of months and therefore likely to make poor decisions to replace domestic with foreign labor based primarily on the price tag--- while, in reality, neither has more or less capability than the other.

The increase in support has prompted inquiries from two national tech industry publications regarding our policy proposals. I have drafted a position paper outlining the economic data on domestic labor supply to provide them during our upcoming interviews.

Enough is enough. I have been looking for work for six months and every single job post is just a way for them to justify bringing someone else in for half the price. This needs to stop.

My husband lost his job after 15 years at his company. They made him train his own replacement who was on a visa. Total crap.

Fix this mess. Americans should be the priority in their own country.

I see it every day at my office. Managers just want cheap labor and dont care about the long term damage to the workforce. stop the visas.

Why are we letting companies undercut domestic workers. Seems like the people running these companies forgot who built this country.
