| 103 | Anonymous | As a council officer I have over the past 3 years worked with NVSC. I have always found them to be helpful, knowledgeable and informative. Their knowledge of the Sectors is impressive. Their ability to disseminate information across the sectors would not only be missed by the Sector - how will the Council manage? Anonymous for very obvious reasons. NVSC is the independent voice of the sector - and should be applauded not punished. Or perhaps this is about personal politics? |
| 104 | Mark Patchett | The borough paid a heavy price for not having a CVS for a number of years, which was why Council staff took the initiative to look at developing some form of consortium of the key voluntary sector partners. NVSC is the result and should be supported and encouraged, and if there are operational concerns from the Council, it should enter into dialogue to ensure that the sector is represented and the Council/funders concerns are addressed. |
| 105 | Ron Smith | NVSC is an essential organisation without which the Third Sector would be much the poorer. If it did not exist it would need to be invented! |
| 106 | Anonymous | There is always money for sexy new initiatives. Always money when there's a building to be photographed next to .But why not for the third sector. NVSC has a considerable track record. It's time to recognise it. And fund it. Dare I say it: outsource all council work to the third sector. Innovate.
I agree - support NVSC petition … give them stability of funding. |
| 107 | Mr J.P.Solanki | The support and help provided are a "MUST" FOR EVERYONE USING THE SERVICE PROVIDED BY NVSC.It makes the user "free" from many aspects of training and management of various tasks that needs to be addressed and requires helping hand at difficult times. |
| 108 | club bana yolo | How will life without NVSC for faith, social and other voluntary organization, NVSC is our guide for good community understanding each other. We beg you to review this decision for the sake of our borough newham |
| 109 | shabana | I fully support the avove petition |
| 110 | Abraham Angulo | I support your petition and I will foward this to all our members.

| 111 | george brown | Without NVSC Circle8 would never have come into existence to help many disadvantaged young people in the local community, and turned them around away from a life of crime. It's a Labour coucil so where's the support for the people? Save NVSC. |
| 112 | Dr Koko kayibi | NVSC has been very valuable for helping small organisations. We would it to be around for many years to come |

| 115 | professor S Iqbal | This is in suport of NVSC for petition. |

| 117 | Dr Vivian Ibekwe | Newham is at a time when all hands should be on deck towards obtaining excellence in services to the borough's expanding community. The NVSC and the enormous work it does is geared towards this goal. Everything therefore needs to be done to support her longevity. |
| 118 | sandi Rance | Why fix it if it anint broke. |
| 119 | Laura | |
| 120 | Liam Barrington-Bush | |
| 121 | Shadna K Miah | Why is it the voluntary sector thats always affected and the work they do is greatly required in supporting communities? |
| 122 | Luljeta Nuzi | NVSC has played a vital role in developing networks within the voluntary , community and faith sectors, Their work impact onthe success of our organization has been excellet. It has enable us to grow steadly and surely ,they have been excellent in making sure that our voice has been herd, our needs have been met where possible, they have strongly defended the interests of not-for-profit groups in the borough. Moreover, it has taken the lead in creating opportunities for better, more meaningful partnerships with the council and other statutory bodies, through the development of the Newham Compact.
Any steps to close down Newham Voluntary Sector Consortium - and to contract with another organisation to fulfil its current role - would be a rejection of the Newham Compact's core principles and constitute an attack on the whole of the borough's voluntary, community and faith sectors. |
| 123 | Penny Collantine | NVSC do very valuable work in the borough and it is absurd that the Council would consider starting something similar from scratch. |
| 124 | Ross Diamond | We in RedbridgeCVS have found working with NVSC to be very helpful to the voluntary and community groups in our boroughs. Their independence is a vital asset to us all. |
| 125 | M. Nunez-Trejos | LAs need to understand that only local people understand the need of the local community. Taking away funding will only mean that real local need will not be catered for, in the worst case scenarion, at best local need WILL NOT BE CATERED FOR!!! |

| 130 | Rev Chigor Chike | NVSC is doing work that is of strategic importance here in Newham. To allow it to close down would greatly weaken the third sector in this borough. |
| 131 | Sally Wood | |
| 132 | Lucy Bingham | I have been grateful to be able to use the services of Newham VSC in various jobs in East London. How ridiculous to close down VSC only to set up the services elsewhere. It seems very underhand. |
| 133 | Julia Acott | NVSC is enormously supportive of charities like ours, and it would be wrong to close it - the staff are superbly helpful |
| 134 | Gifty Ogene | |
| 135 | Dr Gabriel Olasoji | Newham council can not do that to nvsc newham, because newham council are more advnaced and more understandable to be playing politics with people's lives in newham as this group works with both faith and all other voluntary community group in newham.
If there are things that nvs are not doing right, they can be corrected instead of stop funding them, because many organisation in NEWHAM DEPEND ON THEM FOR INFORMATIONS. |
| 136 | Dr Theo Gavrielides | |
| 137 | Hayley Corker | |
| 138 | Jim Ludlam MBE JP | If the chaos resulting from the "privatisation" of the community forums is anything to go by I fear for the future of the Third Sector in Newham. There has to be an independent voice |
| 139 | Anonymous | I am informed by local (Newham) Voluntary Organisations would suffer significantly if this organisation does not continue to be supported. Therefore I wish to add my signature to the petition. |
| 140 | Gary Horsman | I think it essential that the years of experience gained by the NVSC are not wasted, and that the organization continues to offer its excellent services to the communities of newham |
| 141 | Alistair Smyth | |
| 142 | The New Beginnings | We have enjoyed a very good support both financially and encouragement.
It will be a shame for others not to be able to enjoy the famtastic suppport we enjoyed. |
| 143 | Trudy Kilcullen & Maureen Keane (WHCM) | |
| 144 | Julie Chant | The NVSC is a lifeline for small voluntary groups that give Newham the diversity of support, projects and advice to some of its most vulnerable habitants. This in our eyes is just the right support we need to do our jobs. |
| 145 | Mubin Haq | I was very disappointed to hear that Newham Council has not come to any decision on future funding for NVSC. The need for an independent voice in the borough is much needed. If Newham Council really does believe in empowering the voluntary and community sector it will provide funding to NVSC, even if it is just on an interim
basis (until the commissioning process is complete). Failure to do this is a clear indicator it is merely providing lip service to issues such as independence. |
| 146 | kinsi omar | we (newham somali homework club and women's support group) would like NVSC to continue the great work that they do community groups like us. |
| 147 | Newham Action Against Domestic Violence | NVSC have been the driving force in much of the voluntary sectors involvement and undertsanding of the often confusing political agenda within Newham, without which, many of the smaller more isolated projects woulod have fallen by the wayside. It has enabled the voluntary and faith sectors in Newham to have a voice and influence over policy, which will be ever more important over the next few years. To eliminate this important link between the voluntary services and Newham would reek untold damage on the effectiveness and recognition of the impact that the voluntary services has in this borough. |
| 148 | Yasmin Shah | NVSC is the building block we need to keep up the work that allows us to work in partnership with each other. They are a fantastic resource of information. |
| 149 | LESLIE H RICE | It's totally out of order for newham council to even think of not funding NVSC, |
