Name: Sarjoh Aziz Kamara on Feb 25, 2008Comments: NVSC is a vital organisation in Newham. It has over the years supported a lot of Voluntary Community and faith Sector organistaions in Newham. Stifling the running of NVSC will affect the entire Voluntary sector in Newham. Dont do it!!! Give them funding to continue its good works to disadvantaged community groups.Flag

Name: Elahe Panahi on Feb 25, 2008Comments: The loss of NVSC will be felt most by many people /groups located in isolated and extremely deproved areas such as Northwoolwich and Silvertown. Over the last seven years we have benefited from wide range of support we received from NVSC which kept us involved and engaged with borough wide issues. we strongly value their expertise, skills and committments and wish to see them continue with their valuable support to the Voluntry, Community and Faith sectors.Flag

Name: Abdi Bille on Feb 25, 2008Comments: Closing down NVSC is a sheer ignorance of what voluntary organisation does for its community. NVSC was extreemly helpful to young organisations who work at a grass root level. We have alreardy missed its support ,and this lack of support to NVSC and even threatening to close will open a dark chapter of the history of Voluntary organisation Please stop this idea and think before you shoot the gfun. Thank you for not closing NVCSFlag

Name: Matthew Porter on Feb 25, 2008Comments: While not agreeing with the tone of the statement, I do agree with the content. It would be a real waste of resources to close down NVSC and then to re-open another oragnisation to deliver CVS into Newham. There should be no 'divine right' and perhaps NVSC are subject to the grants to commissioning process Many other Third Sector orgs are waiting on funding news from LBN for April.Flag

Name: JOHN PAUL MAJEPA LIKULE on Feb 25, 2008Comments: Dear Sir / Madam We want just to protest by this email the rumours on the closing down the NVSC by the end of March 2008. Because , NVSC is still now the only one biggest umbrella organisation the LB Newham. and most of the small and large charities are building and received an effective support from this strong organisation. Now, we are surprised by your negative proposal to close down the ledear of the not-for-profit organisation the LB Newham wide. In other words, Gamaliel Press Group Ltd reject this assumption wholeheartedly. At finally, we hope that you must review your bad decision in the future On behalf of the Directors of Gamaliel Press Group John Paul Majepa Likule Editor Pyramides Magazine 079 58 65 81 91 079 46 68 09 47Flag

Name: Valerie Forde on Feb 25, 2008Comments: I would like the council to fund NVSC, this organisation keeps groups informed of events and issues and this is vital for the third sector. It is also important that the council does not spend money building a new bridge when there is already one that is well constructed, namely NVSC. Getting rid of NVSC is not added value. No query is too small for NVSC and all queries are important, that is one of their special qualities. NVSC is a well aware of the needs of the third sector, the individual groups in Newham and is value for money. Their continuity is essential.Flag

Name: Mike Roberts on Feb 26, 2008Comments: I think the decision as to who should represent the voluntary/third sector should be taken by that sector. Clearly, the Council, as one of the funders, has a right to a view as to how it wants that to work. But , not in my view to dictate who the organisation should be nor what they should do and say. That would undermine the independence and credibility of our sectorFlag
