Freedom and second chances are for "everyone " ! That is what we all believe and what we "want to" believe ! BUT... as it goes, some people are just NOT that lucky , because they are not even given the " chance " for a second chance or even freedom ! So it goes for what I call my second son , David ! My daughters best friend since 3rd grade , who had not only a terrible childhood from the day he was born,but also a hard school-life as well ! Through bullies, teachers that didn't give a damn and a principle that didn't help much either ! How do I know ? Well, my " other " son had the same principle and so I " know" the school, the teachers, as well as the principle etc. very , very well...trust me !That same principle has tried a few things with my "other" son as well !!! As David tried to fit in, he of course messed up in the way he approached it, but WHO would teach him how to do it differently ??? NOONE ! That's who !!! And therefor, he was on his own ! ALWAYS !!! FRIENDS ? What friends ??? Nope, other than my daughter...and then of course...WRONG ONES..he really didn't have any! So he acted out, naturally! Was sent to prison in 2006, because he broke into his high-school -took computers,accidentally set a door on fire( but put it out), broke open the safe...and now he serves up to 15 yrs ! WHAT??? Seriously ? So I researched, right ! And you guessed it ! More violent, more serious and ( Felony offenders before), or offenders with similar charges have been paroled with LESS time served as David already served ! And that is offenders with HIGHER sentences! But please don't get me started on the prison system, because I will just lose it ! I have learned a few things lately and it just..&#%@^*# ..me off !! Anyway...David was suppose to be HOME on June 7th, BUT because he saw a flaw in his last haircut and fixed it himself,and also because he talked to another prisoner and didn't make it back to his cell in time for lock up, which therefor took him out of his last program and...guess what.. ?..yup ,he didn't get to COME HOME !!! That my dear friends is our " rehabilitation" system for prisoners ! He has been through counseling, has gone through every program the parole board wanted him to go to, and STILL ...nothing ! They have not even told him about a new hearing yet either ! Yet he still prays,reads his bible and keeps his faith, which is very hard to do I can only imagine ! His dad passed away last year David wasn't even allowed to attend his funeral, and his mom is now in a home, because she suffers from Alzheimer's ! David now has NOBODY besides " US "! And to explain this ..his GRANDPARENTS are his mom and dad by adoption ! Another long story ! So we want to give David HIS " SECOND CHANCE" , and HIS FREEDOM back ! He is a wonderful , warm, big hearted person,is NOT a menace to society as they so nicely like to call it, and I am PROUD to call him my "second son"! I will do everything in my power to help him, and I know my friends and my daughter will too ! There is plenty more I could write here ,but I only have limited space , So I HOPE, that my TRUE FRIENDS will stand by us and help me with this petition !And the more signatures the better, so if you know people who are willing to give David as much of a chance as WE DO , then PLEASE ask them to sign as well , BECAUSE ...WE WANT DAVID HOME !!!!
