1301 David NichollsPoliticians have a responsibility to the fecund females of the electorate and not to an imaginary being of their ‘beliefs’. If that is too difficult, then the good old ‘abstinence’ rule, religious people seem to hold so dear, should be applied, and they must not vote on the abortion decimalisation bill.

1329 Elizabeth ScallyThis is an extrememly important bill!! It should never have been on the crimes act in the first place, and it is extremely important to the health and wellbeing of women (as well to our equality!) that abortion be freely available, and that women have the right to self-determination over their own bodies! In the past some doctors, especially in rural areas, have been too afraid to perform this medical procedure or learn how to perform this it for fear of legal action and this is just not acceptable. I wholeheartedly support this bill!
