Comments: To not have Declan/FLAG present at these negotiations is a mistake. He brings a range of experience to bear that is not only relevant but is required for these very discussions. I sincerely hope that he is present to help ensure our interests - ALL OF OUR INTERESTS - are taken into account.

Comments: just heard about this now. FLAG has had our mandate since it's inception and have proven very successful. Since the SSAI appears to have disregarded Declans' / FLAG contribution, I can only suggest that we petition the DOJ for FLAG to represent the F/B rifle and pistol shooters on the panel.

Comments: At this crucial time in legislation making within the CJB we as shooters need the experiance and knowledge that FLAG and Declan have attained over the last 12 yrs. Flag has gained the trust of the DOJ and has represented us the shooters very well over the 12yrs , so why do away with them to send in , inexperianced individuals to start all over again , especially at this crucial stage. Leave FLAG where it is .

Comments: I have been Declan Keogh's co-representative from FLAG at all meetings with DOJ and the Garda since the inception of FLAG. I find it totaly bewildering why anyone would want to change a winning team at the last fence. I am personaly gutted that the SSAI have made this monomental stupid decision. However, in the interest of shooting and at all cost, Declan Keogh with his vast experience must be at the table.

Comments: It is beyond belief that the S.S.A.I. would do somthing this thick, this close to meetings to which the outcome will dictate which way our sport will go, I have made My views known to the relevent people in the association. Quite frankly it sickens Me. I fear we will regret this crazy decision

Comments: Dear Sir or Madam I think it is extremely important to keep some form of consistency at these talks, talks that Declan has volunteered his time over the past number of years. He has been able to put forward the diverse interests that Irish shooting has, and has communicated the concerns of both Government and Sporting pursuits in a balanced way. This along with the relationships that Declan has built up a thorough knowledge of the Legislation to date is of the utmost importance to Irish Civilian shooting programs and sporting interests. To exclude the Declan in any negotiations with the Department of Justice would be outrageous and lead to single minded pursuits of a minority group of individuals, such a drive would do a disservice to both the hard work on the part of the Government and Declan and I personally would be against such exclusion. The work that both parties have done over the past years to resolve something that had remained unresolved for quite along time has only come to be addressed because of the work of Declan Keogh. Anybody who would or has suggested this is either completely misguided or has lost touch with the membership of the shooting community. I would ask that they reconsider this and reinstate Declan Keogh as soon as possible. Sincerely Nicholas Flood
