Death Magnetic is a fantastic album, regardless of its production flaws. I think that the reaction to this album speaks for itself. A group of people are not happy with this album, and this will need to be adressed. Various soruces are starting to cover the so called 'Loudness War' in the media, and it is just a shame that Metallica have had to cop this. Various sources are starting to modify versions of the album as released on Guitar Hero, as they do sound better, they are more listenable than the retail version. As many die hard fans of the band (such as myself) have spent alot of money on this album, several people even reporting that they have bought the 5 LP set, the Coffin Box, and CD,and are still having to resort to listening to the Guitar Hero 3 mix, I think this needs to be adressed. I am pledging that the band move for a Creative Commons Liscence for Death Magnetic, which allows the consumer to remix their own version of the album to their own acceptable level. As each person has their own interpretation of what this album should sound like, I believe this is the only suitable way to fix the errors with the production. To remix and remaster this album is economically out of the question, and will more than certainly not make everybody happy, so I am moving that a Creative Commons liscence will help us all to appreciate this great album even more, and even put our own spin on what this album should sound like. It will give every body an individual experience with this album, and will cease alot of the arguments over this album, and hopefully the negative media attention that this album has received.
