So, what category do I think deflating the ball REALLY falls under, the answer is simple and it's cheating. You are putting yourself at a distinct advantage over your opponent and this has a direct impact on the game. I don't care how small the infraction is, a team needs to be punished for such actions.

Again, let's think about our youth and the message it sends. If a student steals a test for a class from the previous year (NFL example: a team records another team practicing) or a class uses phone calculators (when they have been banned) during a calculus exam (NFL example: deflating the ball). Both of these actions are grounds for suspension or in some cases even expulsion. These are severe penalties because it discourages the act from being repeated. I should hope the NFL keeps this in mind as they hand down the fines. But, they won't because what it boils down to is the NFL is pretty much a joke these days and not in a Good(ell) way.

So, I propose that this years Super Bowl be the Seattle Seahawks vs. the Green Bay Packers! I mean how awesome would that rematch be? It feels like the right thing to do. Having New England in the Super Bowl is the perfect end for a season laden with missteps and controversy. I wish there was a way we could truly avoid that.

I am well aware how unrealistic this petition is. It's about as realistic as those Domestic violence "Speechless" ads that the NFL are now airing. They are done in such poor taste and without an ounce of authenticity. I am sure the participants all had good intentions but in the end the product was not even viewable...just like SUPER BOWL XLIX!
