•In Canada, the abolition of the death penalty is considered to be a principle of fundamental justice. Canada has played a key role in denouncing the use of capital punishment at the international level. In 1976, capital punishment was removed from Canada's Criminal Code. This petition is to re-open a thorough investigation on the crimes committed to children that end up destroying thier personal advancement, and as well to prevent repeat offenders and provide the closure these abused children only end up getting years after the incident occurs. There is a strong belief that if the sentencing was a bit more strict then this would decrease the percentage of child abuse and eventually control the reduction of these criminals in our prison system thus saving the country and the state a considerable amount of money in our court and legal systems.
