DC Spartans Officers,
These signatures support the Capitol Lounge remaining the official Michigan State alumni bar in Washington, DC. Word on the street is you are considering moving to a different bar in the future, this would be a mistake and we do not support the decision.
We love the Cap Lounge and want it to remain the home for all Michigan State game watching festivities. Moving the official alumni bar to McFadden's or another equally bland bar like RFD would be a big mistake. The Lounge perfectly captures the Spartan culture and allows local DC Spartans a place to meet each other. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
The Capitol Lounge:
- Captures Spartan attitude
- Friendly staff that always take care of the Spartans
- Is in a high traffic location on Pennsylvania Ave, giving DC Spartans free promotion
- Always has Bells on draft
- Plays game audio and MSU-friendly music
- Is much better than the UofM alumni bar... McFadden's is not
- Has Spartan food and drink specials
- Has a good amount of seating and TVs
- Has multiple rooms for Spartans to meet and greet
- Has a Spartan DJ
- Is Metro accessible
- Has street parking for those who drive in
We don't want to see the Michigan State alumni bar moved. Moving away from the Cap Lounge will be a mistake and the DC MSU Alumni Association will have lower attendance for games without a doubt.
