Name: Jennifer Lowe on Feb 20, 2010Comments: As a graduate of UD I am apalled at the university and the SGA officials. The D2D trip is truly one of the SAFEST college trips in the country. It comes at a time when there are not a lot of college students in Daytona. The entire school community is there to watch over and help anyone from Dayton that may be having a problem. It truly is the one time college students can take a trip and trust that there are enough people on the trip to watch out for their interests.Flag

Name: Christine McBride on Feb 20, 2010Comments: As an alum and former SGA member (service coordinator '02 -'04), I am shocked at how different SGA currently is being run. I actually started the Locks of Love drive there which apparently has stopped as well...another good program gone by the wayside. The trip to Daytona is key to what makes UD so special and great. Also not having an exec group just gives "power" to a few select people who then could change anything at a moments notice. I am very disappointed in the SGA group right now - do whatever you can to stop this change from happening.Flag

Name: Candace Treasure on Feb 20, 2010Comments: I am an alumni of UD and I am currently a graduate student here as well. I strongly support current operations of SGA and D2D. If Daytona were to be cancelled or if significant changes were made to D2D I will not donate any money to the University of Dayton ever. Our university does not have events that most colleges enjoy such as homecoming, concerts, and big sports teams. The tradition of Lowes Fest has also been compromised by the administration. If Daytona is also removed it will hurt contributions alumni make to the school as well and will end a tradition unique to our university that students love. Keep D2D alive and unchanged!!Flag

Name: John Markwell on Feb 20, 2010Comments: Dayton to Daytona is a tradition that defines the University of Dayton. It is an opportunity to unwind and have fun with your peers after a long and stressful year of school. Eliminating Daytona would eliminate the community atmosphere UD prides itself on. Dayton to Daytona is our opportunity to show the world what UD is about.Flag
