Currently in Massachusetts Licensed Daycare Centers are not required to post or make available survey results and complaint investigation results. This information is only available if a parent contacts Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, the system is difficult to navigate and the information is not readily accessible and there are different people for different areas. Currently there are daycares operating with significant violations or deficiencies and the provider is not required to notify parents of survey findings or their corrective actions. Many of these daycare centers provide care with government funds in the form of Voucher programs. As consumers, parents should have this information readily available prior to enrollment and throughout their childs enrollment. Other care providers, including nursing homes, require posting of survey and complaint investigations to the consumer to allow them to make an informed decision for their loved one, our children should be afforded the same courtesy.
