The Darug people ARE the original custodians of the whole Sydney Basin region - which includes Blacktown area - Blacktown was given the name because of the Darug aboriginal people - my ancestors are Darug aboriginal people - thats were I came from how could someone day that my ancestors did not exist

    Comments: shame on you blacktown council. my nanna was one of the first lot of stolen generation, 3 lots of my familt have been born here on darug ground, i live here on darug walkabout ground. why wouuld you not recognise the true holders of this land as darug ? wouldnt have anything to do with your plans to build over walkabout ground and to destroy sacred ground woud it ? darug are a proud people, i turn my back on you in disgust, but this does not mean you will not be hearing from me again. shame on you.

    Comments: The Darug people were the original inhabitants of this area and deserve recognition to honour this. We cannot turn our backs on them as if their history did not exist. Blacktown Council should not ignore the past in their rush to get on the developer's band wagon.
