Hello all, It is with great sadness that members of Darug community have been made aware by a councillor of the Blacktown City Council that at a meeting conducted by Council last night, not only was no acknowledgement given to the Darug people, but no acknowledgment was given to Aborigonal Australians as tradition land owners at all! When the Mayor was asked if this was intended, his response was - yes, it is new policy. This is highly racist and antagonistic behaviour, the Mayor should be utterly ashamed of his ignorant stance. Darug members having been working hard to be heard on this issue and we will not stop. Thank you for your support thus far!
