We just recieved another set of his stickers yesterday. The BMV is still all messed up. For Joel to stand and say he will not excuse late fees was arrogant and he needs to be removed from his post and a new person capable of getting and keeping these problems fixed needs to be appointed!! |

| 1218 | Jay Silverman is an incompitent liar. Since the closing of our local license branch, I have tried 4 times to renew my drivers license. The lines have been so long, I could not wait for hours to accomplish this menial task. I had to get back to work. I was able to get it done at our local branch in a matter of minutes each and every time.
During the 'town meeting' to gather information about the potential closing of our local branches (two effective and efficient branches were closed in our county instead of the one 'slow/ineffective/inefficient branch' that was left open for obvious political reasons. We were told at the meeting that "No decison had been made yet" about the closing of local branches. Sitting there for nearly two hours, every person who spoke, gave reasons for keeping branches open, some good, others for personal reasons. IF Mr. Silverman had been there to gather information, he would have come away with feedback of 100% in favor of keepint at least one of the two open. However, within a matter of a few days (less than a week) a press release was made notifying the public of the closing of our 'effective' license branches.
Now the system is in a state of chaos, supposedly due to new computer software problems. Where is the accountability Mr. Daniels???? This is a problem that can and should be 'fixed'. Replace the incompitent person in charge before we have to replace you! |

Along with the mishandling of the BMV by Mr. Silverman, you must also approach the issue of the systemic problem in Indiana. As a secondary social studies educator, I am, of course, aware of and referring to the fact that our state is ONLY one of two in the United States that has no confirmation process in the senate for gubernatorial appointees (the other being Nevada). I'm sure, as the aggressive, visionary and public servant that you pride yourself to be, you can see that this is an obvious flaw in our constitution, and would very much like to remedy this problem. |

| 1237 | Service at Indiana BMV was abysmal long before this computer "problem." In March of this year, I went to BMV over my lunch hour to have my license plates transferred to my new car. It took FOUR HOURS get this done, so I ended up having to take a half day of vacation time! Others I was waiting with reported similar waits at other branches. This never happened when I went to my local Mooresville branch, which Gov. Daniels had closed. I never waited over 30 minutes, even on the busiest of days. I sent an email to Mr. Silverman describing what had happened. Do you think I received a response? No. Incompetent management at it's best |

| 1243 | My 3rd attempt at getting my license was miserable. I was told the wait would be 30 minutes. It took 4 hours for me to finally get my drivers license. I had my 10 month old with me and there were hardly any places left to sit down, no changing table, no water fountain. It was hell and it took me days to get over the trauma. My husband still needs to get his license and we need to register the cars but I can't go through that again. We just moved from KY and this just proves all those Hoosier jokes were right on. |

| 1247 | Since this man has taken over the BMV, it has gone to hell in a handbasket. I used to work for the BMV before he came and we never had the problems they have now. And I have personally had a problem getting my plates renewed. I live in Howard county and I mailed my renewal in. TWO MONTHS LATER, I still didn't have my sticker. I called and they finally arrived. I was amazed to discover that my renewal had gone to a far away county for renewal. Apparently it had gotten lost in the shuffle. When I called to complain, i couldn't get anyone to explain to me why my Howard county renewals went to some other county. The same thing happened to my friend only it made her renewals late, even though she mailed them in almost 2 months in advance, like I did. They charged her a LATE fee even though THEY were the ones who made her renewal late by sending them to some other county that couldn't get to them on time. Fortunately for me, my renewals fell just inside the deadline (within days) so I wasn't charged a late fee, even though I send my renewals in 2 months in advance. This organization is a shambles and I blame JOEL SILVERMAN. GET HIM OUT!!! He doesn't have a clue as to what he is doing. |
