1101 The bmv still owes me money! I gave a car to my daughter but had to purchase a new plate as I could not transfer the one in my name. Then the BMV said sorry I cannot retreive your old info and give you your reembursement! This was 2 weeks ago and the system is still not working! The BMV cannot calculate what I should get back-the computor has to do it!

1107 I worked for the BMV for many years and it has steadily gone down hill. It's a real shame that the people of Indiana HAVE to depend on it,,,,the employees can only do so much!!! It's time for a change in the upper management of the Bureau.
1108 i feel for the employees of the bmv, they are the ones receiving negative comments from media and customers. Joel Silverman needs to step up and take responsibility for his actions. As a matter of fact so does Daniels since he did hire him and give Joel free reign of the bmv.
1109 Employees who inform you of problems should be thanked, not fired. The only way to improve any system is to listen to the folks in the front lines, they will tell you what works.

1111 I had to go to the BMV twice to get my daughter's driver's license. The first time the computers were 'down' and the second time, the camera/printer were not functioning. After several hours of waiting we finally received her license. It's bad enough kids have to wait 30 days to get it, but a couple more because the BMV can't get their act together?

1119 I can't figure out why this system wasn't tested fully before it was put in place. I spent more than 8 hours there trying to get my cdl permit.. I lost a whole day of school from it. I had a hard time trying to catch up at school because of it. I fermly balieve in the DITCH MITCH bumper stickers... DITCH MITCH!

1121 I waited for 3 hours to acquire a new plate! We are in world economy where we must be as efficient as any country in the world. Obviously the BMV and the current administration does not value Indiana citizen's time. The BMV is a failed and archaic system that needs immediate reform.
1122 On closing down all the rural branches he didn't take into consideration that everyone from all the surrounding towns who don't have a licence branch would pour into the ones that do have one, like the one in Albany, IN where the Pizza King and USA Video is and it takes up all their parking and they have to run people off to keep any parking at all. We had to buy signs to post in front of the storefronts and even that doesn't work. The licence branch in Albany doesn't have enough parking and he should make the owner pave more of their land for parking. People come from all over expecting a 15 minute wait and that is wrong. Usually the wait is 1 1/2 hours because of the amount of people. Did he go around to all the branches and sit in there with all the angry people to see what kind of a situation he created? I'd say not. And people now have to waste time and lose money that they had to take off from work and the added gasoline at it's high cost to go to the nearest branch only to find out that it is only open on certain days and they are going to have to come back. People come from some of the bigger cities because they are too crowded thinking they are going to get in and out and be able to go back to work and they soon realize they are in for a wait if they came on one of the days that the branch is open. If not they have to go back to a main branch and waste more time. And the litter. No food or drink is allowed in the branch so people stand outside on their long wait after going to the local McDonalds and they spread litter all over the place because the branch doesn't even offer a outside trash can for these people to use and the people who smoke use the parking lot for an ash tray because they won't even provide an ash can. They also don't have any restrooms so the people come over to the other businesses and use their restrooms and that makes out water bills higher as well as the other businesses having to clean the restrooms more often. If they are going to have such long waits they need to offer these people a public restroom because some of these people have small children with them.

1124 Ask Silverman why he terminated 9 of his full time employees that were knowledgeable with all new part time people that don't know the program as well.? Terminated for made up reasons to get us out that had seven years up to eighteen years at the Mishawaka BMV.

1127 This snafu with the DMV computers is the last straw. Closing the other offices was bad but this takes the cake. Someone needs to address the problems with the DMV and it's leadership.

People came and went before and after me and when I inquired why those who signed in after me were already serviced, I was informed that I was not in the express line because driver's licence renewals were a part of the other line. It takes less than 10 minutes to take care of a licence renewal. How ridiculous to make a person spend 2 1/2 hours to do this. No one is informed about this line a and line b system therefore people are very confused why those after them are being called before them. At least with the "Take a number" system, a person knew where they stood and exactly how many were ahead of them.

1133 The removal of the clocks was a insult to to people the goverment is to serve. Joe Silverman should be replaced immediatly. The Mishawaka branch alone is good enough reason. I cant think of any private bussiness that run this poorly could still remain in bussiness. The Democrates will get my vote because they couldnt do any worse. Hell they might even fix it I have a friend who cant get his plates because they cant find him in the system.

1138 The Indiana BMV is the most incompetent, mismanaged (re: Joel Silverman) agency I have ever encountered as a resident of 5 states in my 72 years. It has not improved on your watch. Also, I believe all governments should b e accountable from the top down and employees who reveal problems in any agency should be rewarded, not terminated.
1139 Unable to perform a simple plate renewal, the BMV's Evansville Westside branch informed my wife that she would have to wait upwards of 60, perhaps even 90 days before she would be able to install a new sticker on her vehicle. Although given a "permit" that would officially designate the car as legally tagged, by all outward appearances my wife's license plate has expired, making her subject to a time-and taxpayer-paying waste of time with a police officer on motor patrol who is simply performing their job by stopping a vehicle with "obviously" expired plates! This is unbelievable. Beside the fact that any computerized system should be Beta-tested to the extreme before going online, the State of Indiana most certainly should have had a "Plan B" ready to implement the very moment it became clear that the new system was failing. That such a backup plan was not implemented shows either negligence or incompetence, or a combination of both. Either way, this situation is an embarassment to the entire state. If we cannot trust the government to perform such relatively simple tasks, how can we trust them with the complex economic, social and educational challenges championed by our current administration?
1140 I sent in my license plate renewel July 3. I have not received my plates! The local BMV used to process and return the plates within days- this year, with the new system, it has been nearly a month and I still do not have my plates. Why fix a system that was not broken? When do I get my plates?!
1141 The BMV's new system is flawed. I was not able to complete a simple transaction, plate renewal and was told I would be given a 60 day permit due to the BMV's incompetent system. I work in industry and before we go live w/ any new system it is validated; checked and then re-checked for accuracy and function. I can't believe this fell through the cracks and has caused law enforcement and tax payers alike much inconvienace and grief.

1144 There is major problems with the DMV that need fixing and it is getting worse. In January I used the on-line order to renew my plates January 31, 2006. My money was taken right away, the plates were mailed March 17, 2006--for plates that expired February 28!!! I had to contact my local office for them to void the first and send me replacement platee--completely unacceptable and costing the state more money.

1146 I believe government should be accountable from the top down and that employees who bring up problems within government should be rewarded, not terminated. and also I liked the number system at BMV at least you know how many is in front of you, now you have no idea how long you will be waiting.

1148 The real question is; Is the database corrupt? If so, this is a huge problem, that if fixed, will plague the state for many, many years and the cost will be on par with Exxon's profits!
1149 I have to go down and renew because the system either does not work or someone erroneously typed in my SSN. It's correct on the title. I tried to renew early but the BMV was jam packed and I just did not have the time or strength to deal with it. Thanks a lot! (Not)
1150 I moved here from Phoenix. First time I went to get a license or registration, I was sure it would take all day because there were about 300 people there. I was amazed. They really pumped the people through and I was there less than an hour. Here in North Vernon, I have to sit for hours and listen to the employees gab with their friends. Very rarely do I see a transaction become completed. The supervisor was also gabbing with friends of hers instead of jumping on a computer not then in use to help get the line down. This is totally ridiculous and shows a real lack of regard for other people's time. Arizona has it together. Indiana, send someone down there and get a clue.
