Comments: Fight for our children. Sex is okay but it is illegal for kids, so sexual behavior is making it harder to teach them. I cannot believe teachers and parents place winning a trophy on a higher level than teaching morals.

Comments: I so thoroughly agree with the conent of this petition. This kind of sex-oriented dancing has besmirched the art of dance in general and specifically for young, innocent children. What has not been stated is the inherent physical danger in hip gyrations and thrusts, whipping actions of the torso and joints in children under tha age of 12-13 is not inappropriate, but harmful!

Comments: I competed in dance competitions most of my childhood. Our teachers would never, ever, ever think of choreographing an innapropriate dance or using innapropriate music. It begins with the teachers - shame on them that this petition even exists

Comments: There is no justification, ever, for children to be performing movements and wearing attire which evoke adult nudity and implied sexual behavior. These behaviors are not attractive in adult,s let alone in youngsters.

Comments: Thank you for "finally" realizing these things!! I am the proud grandmother of two beautiful and talented dance teachers who have been aware of this for a long time and I never see any of these things in any of "their" performances!! They are blessed!!As are their students!!

Comments: I think that certain choreographers feel that a piece is an expression of their work and dont really pay attention to the content that they are setting on young children. It is very difficult to find songs that are appropriate for children these days but they songs are out there, look for them!!! Put some effort into making your children look good not yourself!!!

Comments: This is just one of so many issues of morality that dance competitions bring up for question and that does not even began to touch the fringes of the damage it does to the art form.

Comments: Good - I wholeheartedly agree. These competions cheapen dance as an art form. Children deserve the best, and this is not it.
