885 Deborah FelmethUSSupport the health, beauty and vitality of old Damascus in the same way that many European cities have done, by limiting traffic not by creating more cement block and pavement!! Find ways to increase the ease of momvement by having license numbers eligible to enter the city on every othe day. DO the thing which PRESERVES the beauty of this amazing city, both inside the old wall and yes, especially immediately outside the wall in order not to isolate the old city as an island in the midst of a sea of polluting vehicles!!Teacher

899 Khaled El-JabiSYbulldozing anything that is 100's of years old is a very limited and short term solution. If they proceed with this 'road', it will be only a few years before the congestion is back but all the old houses are gone forever. If the Syrian Govt. is serious about solving the traffic situation then it will have to look deeper than a solution that has been tried elsewhere in the world and failed miserably.Commercial Director
