We, the readers of the online version of the Daily Item, wish the Daily Item's management reconsiders its new pay structure and only 10 free views per month. The $0 to $195 annual increase is a huge financial hit to a mostly working class readership.

Everyone recognizes that it costs money to run a newspaper and a website, but such a sudden increase hurts the loyal followers online who are/were generating web traffic which aids in web advertising.

Please consider these options
1) Reduce the annual Digital Access Only Membership from $195 to $104. ($2 per week) 2) Give subscribers the option to choose what features they want a la carte with the total equaling the $195 annual cost.
3) Create a news only option for $52 annually. Many people are not interested in the other sections.
4) Provide what was available previously for free (not the whole paper) at a $52 annual cost.

With the adaption of one of these proposed or something similar, there will be a sharp online increase in digital subscribers likely creating more revenue than you have seen so far from your new pricing structure.

Thank you for reading this petition and considering these options for many of your loyal readers who have read the print and online versions for many years.
