For over 20 years, I would wait through winter and hit up BR for a few quarts of Daqcuiri Ice. So, I had a craving today and had to pick my jaw off the floor when the little girl told me it was discontinued and redirected my attention to Tropical Ice.....?!?!
I thought a company's success was centered on loyalty to it's employees AND customers. Is there a petition online to get rid of daqcuiri ice, because I can't believe this has happened. |

My happiness was soon replaced with horror when I learned that after 37 yrs. of savoring the flavor of daiquiri ice ice cream, my favorite flavor was no longer being made. Is this one of those sick rumors that must be verified on snopes.com? Is it like an unproven claim of bigfoot being found? Is it like a soap opera where terrible things happen but you know it's not really true? I don't know but what I do know is that before Mr. Robbins (of Baskin Robbins ice cream fame) died, he ate daiquiri ice everyday on the breezeway of his home and he would turn over in his grave knowing that a great American staple has been tossed out the window like a piece of trash. I don't know who's responsible for this travesty but you better get on the stick (or ice cream scoop in this case) and start making that daiquiri ice again unless you want to try keeping ice cream frozen with no electricity. |

Every SINGLE time I walked into that store i walked right back out with a big bowl (sometimes a pint or quart) of the divine Daquiri Ice.
Then one day, as a chick normally does when she has a horrible "everything went wrong" day, I went to make myself feel better with my favorite ice cream....I walk in the door ignoring the display of 30 other flavors, walk up to the spot that narmally holds the key to my tummy.........only to hear "its gone and its not coming back" ...................my day had gone to crap and the ONLY thing left to perk my spirits back up just a little was gone......
I haven't been to a Baskin Robbins since....
Please bring back the flavor that has always made my day.... |
