Modify employee policy concerning punching in and out for meals

We, the employee's of St. Davids Medical Center respectfully request the policy for punching in and out for meals be modified. The current policy requires employees to punch in and out for lunch with a 7 minute window. We punch in and out 1000 times a year and we must have a 99.6% accuracy rate. If any employee misses more than 6 punches per year, disciplinary action is enforced. This policy is setting employees up for failure. Employees in healthcare appreciate their meal times, this is a time to relax and recharge. Employee's are unable to enjoy their lunch break because they have the fear of disciplinary action if they don't punch in on time. We request that the current policy allow us at least twice as many punches without fear of disciplinary action. Please sign this petition to make a change for the employee and create a stress free meal break.

    3 years ago Comments: I have to agree with this. It's due to not getting lunches due to chronic understaffing, which led to lawsuits from employees. I've heard this and gotten letters from lawyers about it. So it's now enforced by upper management, yet the facts above are correct and were not changed to meet the new enforced standards which I had thought was not correct.
