Comments: Strongly agree with all of these points. I'd add: further improvements to autofocus in live view, and stronger audio adjustment: why not make the audio input more like the 5dmkII--it's a killer feature that seems like it would be way easier to implement than others that may be limited by sensor heat or processor speed. For video, right now, can't imagine why I won't be getting a GH2 or Canon. Nikon should be trying to leapfrog the competition, after such a long behind-the-curve period in the video arena, but their recent "big move" didn't even get them close caught up, spec-wise, to Canon and Panasonic. It's somewhat fair to say we also need to wait to see some comparisons, but without 25/30/50/60fps and high bitrate, they'll lose a lot of sales to people who read specs, regardless. Nikon's sensor quality for stills is still the best. I have a lot invested in Nikon and would love for them to beat the competition in video, too.

Comments: You'd have to pry my D3 out of my cold dead hands........HOWEVER, I did buy a 5D Mark II last year because of aspirations to create artistic and stunning DSLR films. I hope that Nikon is listening when we say that we are yearning for the ability to create visually stunning motion pictures with Nikon's system (cameras, lenses, etc.). Thanks for your hard and continued work, Nikon! Jason

Comments: Yeah dude - I also want these 1080p/25,30fps and 720p/50/60fps I really can't realise that nikon developed a nikon cam with 24fps - with it i can't do anything serious. and also that nikon uses b-frames - that's very crappy when you try to edit it in AE or different programs. SO PLEASE my dear NIKON change the settings of your very hot D7000 - I beg you PLEASE !!!

Comments: It beats me that Nikon are taking so long to come up with a decent and friendly full raster HD Video DSLR. I cannot believe they don't have the technology and that they cannot do it when the rest of the world is doing it, e.g. Canon, Panasonic. Nikon don't have to worry about the placing their video section against their still photography products as is the case with Canon and Panasonic. When Panasonic brings out 4/3 GH2, they weigh it and balance it very carefully against 4/3 AG-AF100. In fact Nikon can benefit enormously by putting the video capability of Red Scarlet (not necessarily 3K) in a camera like D700. I don't think it is too late even in a market which has already been won by 5DMII. Nikon will be surprised.

Comments: We need these features in this body, as small and light as it is, not in a heavier body -- the D7000 would be the perfect camera for combination stills & videojournalism (where lighter weight, toughness and affordability etc. are at a premium) for those of us with Nikon lenses if it just had higher bitrate video available at more framerates. For now, anyone who wants to do video on a decent budget should go Canon -- they are really listening to their video customers. I'm on the edge of switching a 20 year loyalty to Nikon over to Canon because of the failure of doing this simple thing in this body.

Comments: I am owner of two D3S and lot of Nikon lens and accessories. I am expecting Nikon to deliver a new DSLR with video capabilities equal or better then the actual Canon video DSLR. I was expecting the D700 to be this camera, but it's not the situation. Soon, i will become a Canon user....because i got only one life, and i can not wait for ever after Nikon to deliver what customer want. And i am a customer ! Pierre
