Comments: I also caution this "Users want frame rate options. 1080 at 24p is there, but serious productions also want 25p (PAL countries) and 30 (29.97) options. 720 60p / 50p has become a mainstay on the Canons for slow-mo and would go a long way to getting Nikon caught up. "

Comments: Fully support the petition. Weather the proposal is possible by SW updates or not is debatable, but the request is fully reasonable in terms of video spec flexibility.

Comments: Nikon must catch up with full frame and full featured video - unless they are willing to risk mass migration to Canon. The DSLR video might have been a surprise when Vincent Laforet posted his first short in 2008! - but two years later it is clear that we have a creative revolution at hand. Artist using Nikon are greatly disappointed that they are falling behind at this extremely important new direction and opportunities. Nikon must come out with DSLR video, which is fully competitive with the best Canon offer - or must let their customers know that Nikon can not deliver in this field. Artists using Nikon can then decide whether to stick to Nikon or switch to Canon. The current situation is creating an army of angry customers. Nikon is clearly running out out time... and probably with the most gifted, most innovative artists, who want to push their abilities to the limit - with or without Nikon.

Comments: Both a DX and an FX offering croppable stills (i.e. 20MP) and doing 1080p with AF and a full blown range of variables is both urgent and essential otherwise Nikon shareholders will shortly be holding someone to account.

Comments: I moved from Canon to Nikon for I felt in many ways Nikon is far superior to Canon.I own D300s - 70-200 VR II , 16-85VR Sb-800 & 900. I'm so impressed & would never like to leave Nikon. So i agree & support this one.

Comments: I'm a Nikon user - still. I was struggeling to move to Canon since I'm a videographer as well and do not want to miss the new features of a modern V-DSLR. However Nikon can't still compete with Canon or the Panasonic GHx series. Unfortunately. I want to purchase a new body and will wait until christmas. Seems that a move to Canon or Pana is inevitable ?! :-|

Comments: NIkon GET ON THE BALL with VIDEO. I've just sold a lot of my less-used Nikon glass and my D90, in anticipation of the D7000 - but no 1080/60p has me about to jump to Canon. I am THISCLOSE to dumping my D3 and the rest of my glass and just switching to Canon. Start demonstrating some LEADERSHIP in VIDEO. YESTERDAY.

Comments: I am at the cross roads to buy new camera gear to move into the Fusion camera space. I wanted desperately to buy Nikon, but I'm going with Canon instead. Canon is far ahead in providing the tools we need for DSLR video and it looks like Nikon going to be playing catch up for a long time. The D7000 looks great, but it doesn't hold a candle to what you can get with Canon and their control over rolling shutter and slow motion options. I wish I could wait for Nikon, but I'm going to be investing heavily into lenses and there is no going back.

Comments: I am a producer/director in the industry shooting many national spots and features. As a Nikon user, i'd love to not rent or buy a canon to get the quality commercials i need. 24p is fine, but to compete with the 7d we atleast need 60fps and 30. Please release this firmware soon
