Comments: I love using Nikon and desperately want to stay true to the brand, so please, in terms of video capture, let's not be the poor cousins, any longer. There are many phenomenally talented photographers out there using Nikon equipment, it's just reward to have a spec that challenges the Canon brand.

Comments: I am an avid Nikon Photographer andvideo production professional. I have been waiting for Nikon to release a product that would bring them to the forefront of video on a DSLR. The D7000 brings Nikon to the table but does not bring them to the front. Talk to video professionals and ask them their needs- not the needs of a photographer that thinks they might want to shoot a video sometime.

Comments: Agreed. I love using Nikkor glass and Nikons CLS, but it seems Canon is pulling ahead big time, leaving Nikon in the dust when it comes to video and megapixels.

Comments: I presently own both Canon & Nikon bodies, lenses and strobes and am looking to upgrade to a newer body that combines pro level focusing, high ISO shooting capability, a pro level viewfinder and 1080p video capture. While the Nikon D7000 is the compelling choice for stills capture it lacks the flexible video framerates and the articulating screen offered by the Canon 60D, therefore I am torn as to which body to purchase. Nikon, please provide 1080 30p and 720 50/60p video capture to the Nikon D7000 and I will gladly purchase this camera.

Comments: As a working video producer and D90 owner I love the quality of Nikon's images, but the actual specs make the workflow a nightmare. I have pre-ordered my D7000 and am excited at its potential, but recognize it is still lacking in key areas (frame rates and bit rates most importantly). The changes listed in this petition would make this an invaluable camera and one I would not hesitate to re-invest in in the future.

Comments: As a young producer I love what the D7000 offers in terms of image and intend to buy one despite the video framerate limitations. However, I would be ecstatic if Nikon engineers would deliver a firmware upgrade for the expeed2 allowing producers to make the choice as to what framerate to shoot at and accept the resulting consequences on video clip duration or image quality.

Comments: As a professional photographer and filmmaker I feel that Nikon is superior for photography but Canon is much better for video. I have been with Nikon for years now but to be honest, I have put a lot of thought into switching to Canon because I need both video and photography, and why not have the option to do both very well in one camera?? Unless Nikon smartens up soon I will be switching to Canon. The higher bit rate and 60p is a MUST for serious filmmakers. We need it as consumers and professionals and if Nikon cannot deliver then we need to do something!

Comments: Nikon needs to implement all these frame rates and higher bit rates to compete in the video DSLR market. The cheaper Canon T2i has better video specifications. Match the T2i's video specs, combine that with a much better constructed body and controls, beat Canon and keep customers.

Comments: I don't know why all the options stated above were left out of this camera. It is my strong belief that Nikon must be prompt in addressing these features if they want to grab a part of the DSLR video craze that Canon has so saturated these days.
