Greetings! This petition request is to have additional routes (3-4) added for the #217-CYPRESS in the afternoons, between 5:00-6:30 pm Monday - Friday. Currently, there are approximately 40 buses for the #214 and less than half, roughly 14 of the #217''s. Since I begain commuting back and forth from Cypress to the Medical Center, I've noticed more and more passengers riding the 217. After waiting for about 30 minutes downtown at Louisana/Lamar, there were five of the 214's that passed and the supervisor on site, advised one of the drivers to allow the 217 passengers to ride as she had only 1 passenger for this particular 214. It was 6:00 pm Friday afternoon, and the last 217 passed at 5:25 pm. The 214 driver extended her route to Cypress, and I among others who are also in an agreement, feel this is just one of many examples why there's a need for addtional routes for bus #217-CYPRESS.
