Name: Jan Bell on Feb 19, 2012Comments: This stuff is horrid!! I was taking 120mg a day. Had to go "cold turkey" because of a new medication I had to take. I am a week in and STILL having brain zips, humming in ears, upset stomach, sweats, jumping out of my skin, still can not drive, BAD vivid dreams, TV has to be on closed caption because it hurts to listen to, scratched myself until now I have scars on my legs, arms and back. dizzy, loss of words when trying to have a conversation, cry alllllll the time, butterflies in my stomach, migraine headaches every day. I wish doctors would tell you before they take you off medications that "you are addicted" and you are going to REALLY suffer.Flag

Name: Valerie Williams on Feb 24, 2012Comments: I am on day 8 and I feel like total shit. I went through something similar years ago with Effexor, but this is horrible! I have severe vertigo and nausea. I can't even eat. The only thing that keeps me hanging on here is every minute I make it without giving in and taking another Cymbalta. (60mgs). I was prescribed Cymbalta for low back pain caused from Degenerative Disk Diasease - which was unbearable. However a change in occupations has allowed me al ittle less physical strain, thus I am eliminating Cymbalta from my life. Eli Lilly needs o be held accountable for the horrible and unpublished withdrawl symptoms associated with stopping this medication. Even tapering has the same effects. That's why the majority of us simply, quit cold-turkey. Thank you for establishing this petition. I hope something is done about it.Flag

My psych prescriber really pushed this medicine and increasing it even with all the side effects I'm having. If the side effects are bad, the withdrawal is going to be worse.Flag

Shame on Eli Lilly, they really are drugs lords who have full approval by the FDA to peddle it, with little or no information of the dangers of this drug. But money is all important and they truly do NOT care at all what happens to people. Down with all Drug companies you are killing people and take no responsiblitly for anything as long as the all mighty dollar is there things will NEVER change.Flag

Comments: I am going insane trying to withdrawl from this addictive drug. Eli Lilly is only concerned with making money, I am signing this because I would love to see the big drug companies be held accountable for all the people out there who are going through what I am. Doctors don't understand the side effects and withdrawl symtoms we suffer and frankly they do not care. As long as Eli Lilly makes money nothing will ever change. I am furious with the lack of information this company provides. Really all the big drug companies are DRUG LORDS, with FDA approval how do you fight that.Flag -

Name: Mary Lou Gold on Mar 2, 2012Comments: The withdrawal symptoms of cymbalta are just fierce. My doctor had me take 30 mg. for one week (down from 90 mg.), 30 mg every day, and 30 mg. every third day. Then I was supposed to go off off all together. I feel just horrible This product should be taken off market!! The withdrawal symptoms are unbelievable. Shame on the FDA for approving it!Flag

Name: Jeanette Teal on Mar 4, 2012Comments: I have been taking cymbalta for about 6 years for fibromyalgia. I have had memory and concentration problems since on this medication, but recently ran out of the medicine and my perscription had expired and my doctor was out of town and I could not get a new perscription. I decided that since it no longer seemed to help the severe pain of fibro that I would just discontinue taking it. At about one week of being off this medication things began happening to me that I could not explain...dizzy, could not stand bright light, memory loss, difficulty speaking, could not find the word I wanted to say, fell 3 times, diahrea, nausea, severe leg cramps...just complete hell. I began to search for answers and was more than surprised to find these blogs where others described my symptoms exactly. I have never had any addiction whatsoever,,never smoked, drank,or did drugs (or so I thought). This drug cymbalta has done nothing for me but made be dependent on it. After 8 days off the drug I am having short spanses of hope that I might survive these hellish symptoms. I absolutely refuse to take another dose of this harmful drug. My family does not understand what I am going thru,,all the symptoms I have described plus sleeplessness (less than 3 hours sleep a night for 8d)ays, terrible nightmares if I do sleep which make me wish I never went to sleep. I am a very strong person and feel I will finally make it through these symptoms. But.. I should have been told sometime in these 6 years what this drug was doing to me. I have lost 42 lbs and my life right now is ntr worth living but I will prevail. Please, please take this drug off the market so no one else has to go through what I am suffering right now. I have had two strokes and now wonder if this drug did not contribute to them.Flag
