As the father of a 10th Mountain Division combat soldier who has served 15 months in Iraq, and will serve a second tour, I'm appalled at the actions of the Berkeley city council in their assault against their fellow Americans. Americans who have done nothing less than give of themselves in sacrifice to their nation. The members of the Berkeley City council, and those who have protested against these brave Americans should immediately make a public apology to the members of the Marines recruiting station, and to all American soldiers. In the absence of that apology, the city of Berkeley should be made to forfeit all federal dollars until such a public apology is forthcoming.
