Relocate Homeless Encampment Between Curtner Ave and Winepol Loop

110 Signatures Goal: 250

The owners of the Spyglass Hill community near Communications Hill Blvd in San Jose have become aware of a homeless encampment that has existed since this past October just outside the gates of Winepol Loop, adjacent to the Curtner Ave overpass. We seek your urgent assistance in finding proper shelter for the homeless individuals in the encampment. The current situation is untenable, and is unfair to both the homeless and the residents of our community. The encampment has no running water or bathrooms, and is unlikely to be a safe or healthy environment for the individuals living there. In addition, the residents of Winepol Loop have heard screaming and shouting in the middle of the night, at least one owner has lost a renter due to the situation, and the encampment will drive down property values in an already tough real estate market. We ask that you take necessary action to relocate the encampment and/or find proper shelter for the homeless individuals in the encampment immediately.
