Cataract is an insidious condition leading to blindness if not treated. However cataract surgery only replaces the natural lens with a plastic implant, makes no attempt to restore the natural lens, and sometimes results in poor outcomes, even loss of the eye. The reason why there are no alternatives is because the eye profession has made no attempt to look for them. We submit that this situation is intolerable, and cannot be allowed to continue any longer. We demand that effective eye drops be quickly developed to cure cataract without surgery.
