It would appear that it is the policy of banks to hold back money for season tickets paid for by both Credit and Debit cards. This is due to banks being worried that a club may not complete its fixtures in a season and that the bank would have to refund money paid through the Cards to the customers.
This means that the club is paid in instalments throughout the year for sales taken directly off a customer's card. The club are thus still receiving payments for THIS season's tickets during May!!!
This is a matter than many football fans are not aware of and something that needs actioning as only 2 clubs have ever failed to play their full quota of games in a season.
If you agree that this witholding of funds from ALL football clubs is wrong then please sign our petition. This petition will be sent to all the major banks and credit card companies through the MP for Burnley, Kitty Ussher.
