I realize there are many cases in the system. However, I also have another friend that is not receiving her payments from her ex-husband either. I know that mothers can be subject to being deadbeat as well. No matter the sex, whether they are male or female. It should be a crime that jail time is served.Flag

Though I am still trying to find out the laws about felonies and misdomeanors on child support I can't find anything to help me. I was 15 years old when I got pregnant by a 24 year old man. I have been fighting for child support for the last 6 years and currently he owes over 16,000 dollars to my daughter. I don't understand how I a 15 child could raise a wonderful daughter ALL on my own by working 2 jobs and going to school to better us but a legal adult can do the same. He puts everything in his parents name so nothing can be taken from him and lives in a 3 bedroom apartment while I live in a one bedroom working paycheck to paycheck. The person who said that if they put their child on the street with no clothes, food, or shelter would be considered child abuse is right but these people (women included) get away with abuse all the time. I don't care if we have to go to legnths to make this a felony something needs to be done!!Flag

He's pissed off because I left the relationship, he petitioned the court so I could not leave the state and start my life over. I gave him custody of our child who was 13 at the time . He had 2 more children and no longer gave a shit about our child and provided no financial support to our child when I was paying court ordered support. I started sending cash directly to our child. I also asked my ex to allow the custody to be reversed and he refused. I have supported our child mentally, emotionally, financially and paid for round trip plane tickets during holidays and anytime requested by my child. At 15 yrs old my child requested to live in my state my ex refused. I could not do anything because I was paying the support directly to my child in cash, clothing, food, personal care products ect. I truly make a concious effort. At age 19 my childs wants nothing to do with my ex and wants a name change. I have 2 younger children I am supporting in addition to my 19 year old. The Irs takes their earned income credit and gives it to my ex and my child never sees a dime of it. Being the selfish bastard that he is. I am currently $22,000 in arrears and the money I have paid directly to my child has gone unoticed. Any parent being called a dead beat who has a similar situation I feel for you and never forget justice will prevail.Flag
