Last year, late-term abortion provider George Tiller was murdered by Scott Roeder. Soon after the murder, it emerged that the phone number of Operation Rescue's senior policy adviser, Cheryl Sullenger, was on the dashboard of Roeder's car. Sullenger initially denied ever talking with Roeder, but later admitted she'd helped Roeder keep track of Tiller's court dates. In doing this, Sullenger displayed a staggering level of irresponsibility. She knew that Tiller had been marked for death by extremists on the pro-life movement. And yet, she basically gave Tiller's court dates (at the very least) to a guy off the street. Therefore, Sullenger bears, at the very least, moral responsibility for Tiller's death. Seen in this light, Operation Rescue's continued employment of Sullenger is a slap in the face to the Tiller family, and is as irresponsible as her initial contact with Roeder. We, the undersigned, call for Sullenger to be forced to leave Operation Rescue either by resignation or firing.
