Name: Melissa Schultz on Feb 19, 2010Comments: This is a great, multi-faceted sport with a huge following in many countries around the world and is a winter sport, starting in September and ending in February. These athletes risk life and limb for their sport and it takes incredible talent and discipline to do well. It is also a huge fan favorite in spectator sports.Flag

Name: Jon Suzuki on Feb 20, 2010Comments: I personally have been racing cyclocross since 1995 and have seen a huge growth in a sport that has gone from a relatively unknown discipline of cycling, to the fastest growing bicycle sport in the US. The United States was recently awarded the honor of hosting the 2013 Cyclocross World Championships in Louisville, KY. As well as the Masters Worlds for 2012 & 2013. It is quite surprising to me that Cyclocross which already has a world championships, world cup, superprestige series, and national championships races in too many countries to list, that it's not an Olympic sport! Cyclocross has also been around much longer than many current Olympic sports. BMX, mountain biking and snowboarding are all modern sports that have a much shorter history. Please give the incredible sport of cyclocross the recognition it deserves. Sincerely, Jon SuzukiFlag

Name: Beth Hamon on Feb 20, 2010Comments: Cyclocross is a sport with one of the fastest growing participant levels in North America and Japan, and a long tradition in Europe. It can be run in snow, ice or mud WITHOUT human engineering assistance (unlike snowbard, which required Canadian Olympics workers to truck in hundreds of loads of snow to Cypress Mountain from far away when the temperatues warmed up). And it's a perfect combination of aerobic endurance, balance and risk factors that makes for one of the most spectator-friendly discplines in cycling. It would be a perfect addition to the Winter Olympic Games.Flag
